What is the lamest toy? |

Hi, I wanted to know what you guys tought that the worst toy was. I think its the 3rd series Pachyrhinosaurus! His armor is very poor, if you see the size of the dinosaur. You must compare him with the torosaurus and the triceratops, and those two were 100 times cooler!!

That's a good question but I have to totally disagree with you on the Pachyrhinosaurus. It is true that the armor on the Pachyrhinosaurus is weak. Tyco probably ran out of creative ideas. But even still, I think the toy is awesome. Granted, it has the same body as the Torosaurus and Triceratops but the color scheme is much better. Also, the head is very detailed and makes it very unique looking. I actually think it's one of the coolest pieces in the whole line.
As for my lamest,I would probably say the Ankylosaurus. Although the crossbow armor is pretty cool the figure itself is pathetic looking. The toy is really small and in actuality, an Ankylosaurus was a large dinosaur like Stegosaurus and Triceratops. The detail isn't particuallry great either. Although the Protoceratops and the Placerias were also small like the Ankylosaurus, their detailing is much beter. Perhaps I would be more impressed with the Ankylosaurus if it had been released in the orange color that the box shows instead of the dull gray. But to each his own . . . |

hmm only Pachyrhinosaurus never had a horn, since all the skulls and Fossils found of that type, there never has been a find with a Horn on it's head like the DR model.
the Pachyrhinosaurus was also alot smaller only measuring @ a max length of 6 Metres than the Torosaurus @ 7 Metres @ Triceratops @ 9 Metres in full max length, so the 1.24th scale isn't that precise at all, quite a shame though. |

Tedty, I doubt it was a matter of "running out of ideas" so much as the fact the series was winding down and the budget was being cut.
In the Pachyrhinosaurus, I can see kind of what they had hoped to create, and had the budget been there, I think it would have had at least two figure compartments (maybe sided turrets like on the Stegasaurus and Torrosaurus?) plus perhaps a larger turrent on the spine. The thing only had 7 parts to its armor, the Styracosaurus had 8 (granted this includes the gun tips) Dino-Riders is one of the few lines I can almost say there wasn't a lame toy, but two of the weaker offerings were the Anklyasaurous and Placerias, mostly because they lacked as solid a play design as equivalent offerings in the Pteradactyl and Protoceratops. I also don't have great love for the figure packs, particularly the first series. It always baffled me these were offered without any weapons, and the first series had a rather garish silver/gold colorsets prominant/ |

It would be hard to say one I don't like... Some are a bit less interesting than others but I think it's like making a great army: some very strong, other very fast, other a bit less armored, we have a lot of kind and that's what is making their charm to me.
About the Blisters, I agree in a way: selling figures without any stuff was a bit uncool from Tyco. But in an other way, we were getting a huge lot of weapons in each dinosaur lot, and so it was easy to transfer in order to give each figure some weapons. Tell me what you think about it. |

The awesome thing about two packs was that they were cheap. Also I love Rulons. I think the Anthead ones like Fire are awesome. As a kid I only had one or two small dinosaurs(I was into Dinoriders for only a short time one summer so no big Birthday/Chrismas score for me) but mom bought me a lot of the two packs.

Looking at the figures page I see what you mean about the gold/silver paint sets the majority of the Rulons do look a lot better in the dinousaur color schemes Krulos especially.

I'm gonna side with you Sidewinder. I got the pterodactyl only a little while ago but haven't touched it since. It's just not very appealing.
Although you guys have to agree the design from the animated series didn't offer much to work with. Maybe if I had the orange mailed version, I'd like
the figure more. The dull brown and grey just dont' cut if if you ask me.
On a separate note, I gotta admit I was rather disappointed with the Pachyrhinosaurus' gear. I mean one dorsal plate with two guns and a chair? And only 1 figure? Pffft....I do like the dinosaur mold though. The head sculpt seems very detailed from the pictures I've seen. No plans on getting it though with the way prices are lol. |
